About Us

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) GEC Barton Hill, a proud student chapter of SAE India, is dedicated to driving innovation and excellence in mobility engineering. We serve as a platform where students transform ideas into reality by bridging academic learning with practical, hands-on experience.

Through workshops, technical seminars, design challenges, and national-level competitions, our members explore diverse areas such as automotive design, cutting-edge mobility solutions, and sustainable engineering practices. These opportunities not only enhance technical expertise but also provide exposure to industry trends and real-world problem-solving.

At SAE GECBH, we foster a culture of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. Our mission is to empower students with the skills and knowledge required to meet the challenges of tomorrow while nurturing technically capable and socially responsible engineers. Committed to pushing boundaries, we strive to shape the future of mobility and inspire the next generation of innovators.

History of SAE GECBH

The SAE Collegiate Club of Government Engineering College Barton Hill (SAE GECBH) was established in 2024 by its founders Akhil S H and Kiran Raj S, under the guidance of Prof. Gopakumar S, with the vision of fostering innovation, technical excellence, and a passion for mobility engineering.

First Official Meetup

The club held its first official meetup on 13th April 2024, bringing together enthusiastic students with a shared interest in automobiles and mobility solutions.

Formal Inauguration

Shortly after, the society was formally inaugurated on 15th April 2024 by Mr. Francis Augustine Joseph, SAEINDIA Faculty Forum Chairman and Demonstrator, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Carmel Polytechnic College, Alappuzha.

Active Participation

From its very inception, SAE GECBH has been dedicated to bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications. The society promotes hands-on learning through workshops, technical talks, and participation in SAEINDIA competitions such as BAJA and SUPRA.

Though young, SAE GECBH has already established itself as one of the most active technical societies at GEC Barton Hill. Carrying forward the vision of its founders and faculty advisor, the society continues to inspire students to learn, to innovate, and to drive the future of mobility.

Auto Click

Auto Click

A creative event where students simply clicked on automobile-related content — whatever it might be. Basic edits were allowed to enhance creativity. The winners were selected based on the number of likes their entries received on the Instagram post.

Winners: Rohith HR (S8 IT) & Anurag (S2 EC)

Auto Quiz

Auto Quiz

Auto Quiz was an exciting event open to students from all academic years. The quiz focused entirely on the automobile sector, with questions designed to test and expand knowledge in that area.

Winners: Rohith HR (1st), Navaneeth Krishna MV & Gokul Subhash Kumar (2nd), Sabin SB & Shyam Krishna U (3rd)

Auto Alchemy

Auto Alchemy

AutoAlchemy was an initiative that shared automotive facts daily on LinkedIn, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Students regularly engaged with the content and expanded their knowledge. At the end of the session, a quiz competition was conducted.

Winner: Navami (S3 EEE)

Sculpt Dreams on Wheels

Sculpt Dreams on Wheels

An event that encouraged students to design and innovate anything related to mobility — from bicycles to cars and more. The focus was on creativity and practical design, where students not only presented their concepts but also explained the purpose and benefits of the features they included.
